Leading Business group sets up Granite EOU near Hosur

Bangalore, June 18 (UNI) Leading business group in Karnataka has set up a 100 per cent Export Oriented Granite Processing Unit near Hosur in Tamil Nadu.

The EOU, set up by Hilltop Girias company, was expected to commence commercial operations from July One. It would cater to the needs of various countries such as the United States of America, Italy, European and Middle East Countries. The unit would also cater to the domestic needs as and when the demands arose.

According to a release issued here today by the company Director Nilesh Giria, machinery and equipment worth over Rs 8 crores, meant for polishing rough blocks of granite, were imported from Italy.

The total investment on the unit, spread on six acres of land at Tyagarasanapalli, was around Rs 15 crores.

He said the unit would manufacture value added granite products and export it against orders from various countries. Sufficient orders were already on hand to commence the production. " In fact it was difficult to meet the export order keeping in view the quality of the product. We could send around 50 containers as against the demand of 500 every month," Mr Nilesh added.
