K'taka to float spl squad to curb naxal activities

Hassan (Karnataka), June 18: Karnataka Minister for Home and Parliamentary Affairs M P Prakash today said that the State Government seriously considering constitution of a Special Squad to curb the terrorists activities.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that the Special Squad would be formed on the lines of the squad functioning in Mumbai.

Providing funds and weapons for the Squad would be decide after a careful study, he added.

Mr Prakash said that it was proposed to set up special police stations to handle Cyber crimes. Such Police stations would come up in Mysore, Mangalore and Belgaum. It was necessary to give training for the police officers on Cyber crimes. These stations was necessary to control cheating the banks and innocent girls through cyber cafes which has been increasing in the recent days.
