IT Sleuths raid offices of "Mungaru Male" Producer

Bangalore, Jun 18 (UNI) Income Tax Sleuths raided two offices of the Producer of super hit Kannada Movie "Mungaru Male" in the city today.

Official sources said that two teams of officials conducted a through inquiry at the two offices of Mr E Krishnappa, in Gandhinagar, known as headquarters of Kannada cinema industry and in Shivanagar.

Confirming the raid, the movie Executive Director Gangadhar said that two teams had visited their offices and did some 'verifications'.

The officials reportedly seized unspecified amount of cash and documents. The movie, made on a shoe string budget, created a new wave in the Kannada cinema and reportedly raked in crores of rupees.

After a series of not so successful cinemas Kannada film industry, under duress due to continuing flops had a wiff of fresh air when Mungaru Male (monsoon rain) proved a block buster and runs even today with well attended houses even after six months of the release.

The movie was starred by debutant Ganesh who also worked as a video jockey in a Kannada TV channel.
