Hilltop Girias sets up unit in Hosur

Bangalore, June 18 (UNI) Hilltop Girias has set up a 100 per cent Export Oriented Granite Processing Unit at a cost of Rs 15 crore near Hosur in Tamil Nadu to cater to the markets in US, Italy and Middle East.

According to a company release here today, the unit spread on six acres of land at Tyagarasanapalli was expected to commence commercial operations from July One.

Machinery and equipment worth over Rs eight crore, meant for polishing rough granite blocks, had already been imported from Italy, Company Director Nilesh Giria said in the release. The unit would manufacture value added granite products.

Sufficient orders were already on hand to commence the production. ''In fact it was difficult to meet the export order keeping in view maintaining the quality. We could only send around 50 containers against the demand of 500 every month,'' Mr Giria added.
