Heavy rains to occur western, southern coastal states
Pune, June 18 (UNI) Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Lakshadweep and at many places in Arunachal Praesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, at a few places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Gujrat region.
The southwest monsoon has further advanced into entire central Arabian Sea, Konkan, Goa, some more parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, entire Telangana, some parts of Vidarbha, some more parts of Chhattisgarh, most parts of Orissa and some more parts of Jharkhand.
The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan and Goa, while it is active in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Saurashtra and Kutch.
The temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and north Rajasthan. They were below normal in north Madhya Maharashtra, while they were normal over the rest of the regions.
Heavy to very heavy rains had occurred at many places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Heavy rains had occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and at many places in Haryana.
Rain or thundershowers had occurred at most places in Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Punjab and east Madhya Pradesh.
They also occur at a few places in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka, at isolated places in Jharkhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Saurashtra, Kutch, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed over east Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
