Drug-rob-gang busted; 9 arrested

Pratapgarh, June 18 (UNI) A drug and rob gang of nine people, including three women was arrested here late last night, police said today.

The accused hailing from Kasganj of Etah district were arrested, when they were on their way to Pratapgarh railway station to commit a crime.

They were identified as Dinesh, Udaybhan, Ratnesh, Vipin, Ravendra Singh, Om Pal, Vidhyawati, Kamlesh Kumar and Kailashi.

Three pistols, six cartridges jewellery, drugs and Rs 6,000 in cash was recovered from their possession.

According to Police, the accused used to offer lift to people and later, rob them after offering food laced with drugs.

So far, the gang had robbed people at Kanpur, Allahabad, Sitapur, Hardoi and Shahjahanpur.

The accused had been sent to jail.
