Copper, nickel up on good industrial demand

Mumbai, June 18 (UNI) Copper and Nickel resumed on a high note on good industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils rose by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on better buying support, while aluminium utensils fell by Rs 100 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and zinc slab were up by Rs 400 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply while aluminium ingots eased by Rs 100 per quintal on thin buying support.

Tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs eight and Rs ten per kg on increase of fresh demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,000, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500 Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,500 Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,700, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,700 Zinc slabs - Rs 19,100, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000 Tin slab - Rs 710 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,910 (per kg).
