CBI suspects LeT involvement in Mecca blast
Hyderabad, June 18: The CBI team, investigating into the Mecca Masjid bomb blast case, suspect the involvement of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in the May 18 explosion that claimed nine lives.
The CBI got the clues indicating the handiwork of LeT militants, who have previously triggered bomb blasts in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country, sources said.
The team recovered the cell phone chip and got the primary report from Forensic Science Laboratory on the unexploded Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) recovered from the masjid on the same day.
With this primary evidence, the team had speeded up the investigation, and was trying to figure out the involvement of LeT.
Meanwhile, the eight-member team visited the mosque this morning along with dog squads and conducted thorough searches there. They enquired about the 'sequence' of the bomb blast with the masjid officials and local people.
