Budget session of Punjab Assembly begins tomorrow
Chandigarh, June 19 (UNI) The Budget session of the Punjab Assembly will begin here tomorrow.
There will be nine sittings during the session which is likely to conclude on June 29. Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal will present the budget estimates for 2007-2008 in the House on June 20.
This will be the maiden budget of the SAD-BJP government after coming to power in the February 13 assembly elections in the state.
Earlier in March , the coliation Government had sought vote-on-account for three months.
The session is likely to be stormy with Opposition Congress charging the SAD-BJP Government of adopting vendetta politics against its leaders and workers.
The Congress is determined to raise several issues concerning the common man, including the law and order and non-fulfillment of promise by the government to provide Atta/dal at cheaper rates to the poor sections of the people.
