BHEL bags Rs 139 cr order from NTPC

New Delhi, June 18 (UNI) Public sector unit Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today said it has secured a contract worth Rs 139 crore from power major NTPC for supply of 27 transformers.

The order is for NTPC's Korba, Dadri and Farakka extension projects.

The scope of work includes supply, erection and commissioning of 15 -- 200MVA 420kV generator transformers, a 100 MVA 400 kV transformer and 11 other transformers -- with a total capacity of 3548 MVA, a statement said here.

The equipments will be manufactured by BHEL's Bhopal and Jhansi plants, completing the supplies in 25 months.
