Aurobindo receives approval from S Africa's MCC
Mumbai, Jun 18: Pharma major Aurobindo today announced that it has received another marketing authorization approval from the Medicines Control Council (MCC) of South Africa for Amoxycillin Capsules in 250 mg and 500 mg strengths, which is used in the treatment of respiratory infections.
The South African market is a highly regulated one. Now since they have got this approval it is now well positioned to participate in antibiotic, CNS, CVS&ARV segments of the South African markets, an official statement observed.
The drug in question is marketed under the brand name Amoxil in most parts of the world. The company has been successfully marketing Amoxicillin in the US and currently commands a market of USD 56 million in South Africa alone, Aurobindo added.
