ASI suspended for chaos in Nandankanan Zoo
Bhubaneswar,Jun 18 (UNI) An Assistant Sub Inspector of Police(ASI) was today suspended for creating a scene inside the Nandankanan Zoo here yesterday leading to a chaos and discontentment among the Zoo staff.
ASI Muralidhar Parida took control of the main gate of the Zoo and prevented the Zoo staff to enter into the premises for not allowing three constables to have a free trip to the Lion Safari yesterday.
The situation took an ugly turn with all the zoo staff and the animal keeper sitting on dharna in protest against the ''unwarranted'' action of the ASI.
The Cop later fled from the scene when he visualised a complete chaos as hundreds of visitors got a free entry into the zoo taking advantage of the situation.
Zoo Director Ajit Kumar Pattnaik later lodged a complaint with Khurda Superintendent of Police Amitav Thakur who on the basis of a preliminary investigation placed the ASI under suspension.
