Acer to launch notebooks inspired by Ferrari design

Monday, June 18 (UNI) IT major Acer aims to launch two new laptop series in order to offer customers not just fast performance but even a look inspired by the legendary Ferrari racing car.

''The flat and light housing of the new notebooks adopt the Ferrari moniker and are meant to mimic the best attributes of the famed marque,'' Acer designers said in a statement.

While Acer's Ferrari 1000 will sport a 12.1-inch LCD display, a 2 gigahertz processor and still weighs a mere 1.8 kg, the larger Ferrari 5000 boasts of a 15.4-inch LCD screen display and weigh 3 kg.

Both Acer Ferraris are built on a 64-bit architecture. The price of the former 1000-series model will be in the range of US 2,300 dollars, while the 5000 would be in the region of USD 3,000, officials said adding that the exact cost here in India will be decided soon.
