MP: 4 lakh Kisan credit cards to be distributed

Bhopal, June 18: A target has been set to distribute about four lakh Kisan credit cards to the farmers of Madhya Pradesh this year, according to Cooperatives Minister Gopal Bhargava.

Of the total 39,23,358 Kisan credit cards distributed so far in the state, nearly 71 percent coming to 28.20 lakh were distributed by the cooperative banks, Mr Bhargava said.

Claiming that the cooperative banks led in distribution of Kisan credit cards, he said instructions had been issued to the banks to give priority to small and marginal farmers in providing such cards.
