UHBVN to segregate domestic and tube well feeders

Chandigarh, June 17 (UNI) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) plans to segregate the load of 447 feeders of 11 KV level supplying power to domestic and tube well consumers of rural areas by the end of December under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna.

This will help in ensuring more power supply to domestic consumers of the villages.

A Nigam spokesman said the UHBVN had been supplying power through 725 feeders of 11 KV level in its command area comprising Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Sonepat, Jind and Jhajjar districts.

It had been decided to segregate the load on all these feeders to ensure that no feeder has more than 200 amperes load.

As many as 2,393 villages out of 3,619 villages would be benefited after segregation of 447 feeders.

He said bids for segregation of load of the remaining 278 feeders supplying electricity to 1,226 villages on turn key basis had been invited and were being processed.

It had also been decided to complete the entire work during the current financial year.

The spokesman said the segregation of load would minimise the break downs as well as system interruptions.
