Ten nabbed for bogus voting in Chhattisgarh
Korba, Chhattisgarh, June 17 (UNI) Ten women were arrested while attempting to indulge in bogus voting this morning during a bypoll to a corporator's post in the local Municipal Corporation, official sources said.
The byelection was necessitated by the death of Ward Number 1 Corporator S Daniel. Sometime after polling began at 0700 hrs, 20 women reached the Government High School polling centre. Suspicious Congress workers complained to Returning Officer S N Ram.
When Mr Ram began questioning the women in queue, the latter began running away. Police managed to apprehend ten of the accused who hailed from Darri locality.
