Retailers to prepare 'Customer Respect list'

Chennai, June 17: Information Technology Adviser to CAG of India K Subramanian urged the retailers to prepare a "Customer Respect Checklist" to create confidence among the customers in the country.

Addressing the two-day conference on 'Riding high on the retailing wave' organised by FICCI, he said the issues in retail involved 'How best a customer could be served while earning a fair profit, How retailers could stand out in a highly competitive environment where consumers had several choices and How business could grow while retaining loyal customers'.

He said it was harder to get new customers than to keep the existing ones happy.

Speaking on "Retail financing", Indian Bank Executive Director A Subramaniam said in retail banking, the challenges included retention of customers and managing high growth in retail segment.
