Released Hizb militant abducted, arms seized in J
Srinagar, Jun 17 (UNI) Suspected militants abducted a released Hizbul Mujahideen ultra while security forces seized arms and ammunition after a gun-battle in Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours, an official spokesman said today.
He said suspected militants abducted released Hizb ultra Tanveer Ahmad Wani, a resident of Yachgoz, Keller in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, a few days ago.
The spokesman said militants fired upon Rahil Ahmad Bhat of Mirhama in Kulgam district, at Kanjikulla, Yaripora today.
Bhat sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
He said an encounter broke out between militants and security forces at Lovely Gali Sumber in Ramban area of Doda district in Jammu region during the intervening night of June 15-16.
The spokesman said no damage was caused in the gunfight.
However, he said one UMG, ten UBGL rounds, 20 SLR rounds, 400 AK rounds and one wireless set were seized during the subsequent search of the area.
