Phagwara in grip of Jaundice again
Phagwara, June 17 (UNI) After a gap of only two months, Rattanpura locality of Phagwara is again in the grip of jaundice and more than 30 patients were being treated by different private doctors of the town.
Acting SMO Gurdit Singh today said medical teams had been deputed in the affected areas and the doctors were examining the residents while the staff members were distributing the medicines.
Doctors were advising the people to take boiled drinking water only for the prevention of the discease,caused by contiminated drinking water.Water samples were being taken from the affected areas, he said.
Nagar Council President Malkiat Singh Ragbotra told that water tankers were being sent to provide fresh drinking water to the residents. A Special sanitation compaign has also been launched in the area.
Two women had died of jaundice in the local Mansa Devi Nagar in April.
