NH blocked over death of tribal youth

Hazaribagh, Jun 17 (UNI) Agitated locals, led by CPI MP Bhuwaneshwar Prasad Mehta, today blocked the Ranchi-Patna national highway, bringing vehicular traffic to a total standstill for three hours.

The local poeple here agitated over the death of a tribal youth in the custody of forest officials.

The agitated people were demanding action against the forest officials and compensation for the victim's family.

The blockade was removed after intervention by the local administration. An FIR was lodged against the officials.

The youth Ziber Munda died under suspicious circumstances in the custody of forest officials on Jun 15 in the district.
