LeT operative escapes from police custody

Hyderabad, June 17 (UNI) A Laskar-E Toiba (LeT) operative and one of the accused in the Samjautha Express bomb blast case Shaik Nayeem alias Sameer escaped from a police station here today.

Police said Sameer, who was brought to Hyderabad from Mumbai on June 7 by the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) in connection with his involvement in Mecca Masjid bomb blast case, escaped from Mahankali police station in the city.

The accused was in police custody for the SIC to interrogate, police added.
