Heavy rains forecast in Goa, Kerala, Lakshadweep, northeast

Pune, June 17 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Arunachal Pradesh and active in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and coastal Karnataka.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Heavy to very heavy rains are also likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

In the regions where the Southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Saurashtra, Kutch and north Konkan. They were above normal in some parts of east Rajasthan, south Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and in some parts of Madhya Pradesh. They were below normal in northwest Rajasthan and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Assam, Meghalaya, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rain have occured at most places in Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occured at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan and Goa.

Rain or thundershowers have occured at most places in Haryana, Punjab and Kerala, and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, and Bihar, and at a few places in Uttaranchal, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
