Haryana to spend Rs 450 cr on Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan

Chandigarh, June 17 (UNI) The Haryana government would spend a sum of Rs 450 crore under the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan for the construction of school rooms in the state.

Besides, a sum of Rs 65 crore would be spent for the repair of school buildings, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh said while addressing public meetings in varius villages in Badra Assembly constituency of Bhiwani district last evening.

Regarding irrigation, he said that Hansi-Butana link canal was being constructed at a cost of Rs 350 crore to ensure equitable distribution of water in the state.

He said 80 per cent work on the canal had already been completed and by the end of this year, the canal would be made functional.

After the completion of this canal, the farmers of Haryana, especially of southern Haryana, would get sufficient water for irrigation.
