Govt mulls schemes to utilise river water: Minister

Machilipatnam, June 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Rural Water Supply P Venkateswara Rao today said the government was planning to utilise river-water through various schemes in the state.

Talking to reporters here, the minister said a modern drinking water project, at an estimated cost of Rs six crore, was under consideration to supply drinking water to the coastal villages in Krithivennu mandal in Krishna district.

Mr Rao said the government was also contemplating measures to cater drinking water in coastal and Kolleru Lake Island villages.
