Dullo warns of strong protest against 'vendetta politics'

Ludhiana, June 17 (UNI) Punjab Congress president Shamsher Singh Dullo today said his party would strongly fight against the ''regime of repression'' let out on Congress workers by the SAD-BJP government in the state.

Talking to reporters here, he said the party workers would unitedly opppose the ongoing vendetta politics of the government.

In this context, he mentioned the alleged harassment meted out to former Congress MLA Jasbir Singh Dimpa who was sent to judicial custody in Central Jail, Amritsar.

Dimpa today went on an indefeinite hunger strike, alleging harassment in the jail and expressed apprehension that he be killed in custody.

Mr Dullo said Congres workers sat on a dharna in Amritsar against Dimpa's harassment but the party would contemplate on a stronger protest if the ex MLA continued to get the same treatment by the authorities.

On the completion of 100 days of the SAD-BJP government, he said the coalition had not fulfilled any of its promises made to the people. During this period, the law and order situation in the state had deteriorated.
