DTTDC plans to make capital tourist friendly destination

New Delhi, June 17 (UNI) With scores of projects in the pipeline, the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) is gearing up to make the national capital a tourist friendly destination.

''DTTDC has gone in for a major construction of tourism infrastructure to make Delhi a tourist friendly destination,''said DTTDC CMD Sanat Kaul.

One such project is 'The Signature Bridge'--a fancy cable suspension bridge which will be twice the height of Qutub Minar with eight lanes and 14 kms of the connecting road.

''Under the bridge a one sq km lake will be constructed for water based sports,'' a statement said quoting Mr Kaul.

Another such project is 'The Garden of Five Senses' which will be eco-friendly garden spread over 20 acres of land with sculpture pieces, exotic plants, amphitheatre, shops and restaurants.

Mr Kaul said the Delhi tourism is going green with its new project on Najafgarh Nallah-Chawla and Kanganheri eco tourism complex where a water based sports complex including a two kms kayaking track and a slalom track for promoting artificial rapids will be constructed.

Under project 'The Vision 2021', DTTDC will develop an under ground passage from Vijay Chowk to India Gate area cutting Rajpath and a museum area around India Gate hexagon.

''It has detailed plans for Yamuna redevelopment which is being followed up in state government, Centre and with neighboring states vigorously,''Mr Kaul added.
