Daughter killed, father survived in road accident

Rourkela, Jun 17 (UNI) Two persons including a five-year-old girl were killed and one was injured, all relatives, when their two-wheeler hit a heavy vehicle near Vedvyas, about 22 kms from here, today.

Police said while the father survived the accident, the daughter along with her uncle died on the spot.

Soon after the accident, an irate mob put up road blockade for several hours preventing movement of the vehicles on the Rourkela-Sundargarh road.

The district officials persuaded the mob to withdraw the blockade following a promise to sanction Rs.10,000 from the Red Cross Fund to the kin of the deceased and agreed to bear the medical expenses for the injured person.
