Mumbai, Jun 17: The City Civil and Session Court Principal Judge Ashok Bhangale will hear the argument on the application by Anti Terrorist Cell (AEC) seeking cancellation of bail of Haseena Parkar in an alleged extortion and cheating case on June 19.

Haseena, sister of mafia fugitive Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar was granted bail on a bond of Rs 25,000 on May 24, this year by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate V K Sharma.

The AEC had moved miscellaneous application on the grounds that the metropolitan magistrate did not have the power to grant bail to a person charged with extortion and forgery.

The prosecution's case was that Parkar had threatened Vinod Avalani, an estate agent and refused to return his Rs 30 lakh which was paid to two builders for a slum redevelopment project deal at Wadala in southcentral Mumbai, which, however, failed to take off.

Meanwhile, Additional Public Prosecutor Dilip Shah, who is representing the State in this case received a threatening call.

The caller asked him not to appear in this case, otherwise he (Mr Shah) would have to face dire consequences.

Judge Bhangale had directed Police Commissioner to provide security to Mr Shah and investigate into the matter.
