BVS to hold first convention of activists on June 21

Mumbai, Jun 17 (UNI) The Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS), the student wing of the Shiv Sena, is organising it's first one-day State convention here on June 21 to discuss issues relating to youth and the student community.

Addressing a media meet here today, BVS president Abhijit Panse said there was a need to bring together the student community and involve them in the constructive development of the country.

The BVS congregation will be inaugurated by Shiv Sena executive president Uddav Thackeray.

''We are happy that Uddhav Thackeray has agreed to address the convention and provide us with guidance. He will also give away awards to the winners for various competitions.'' The convention is aimed at honing the skills and talents of the youth who otherwise fail to get a common platform for this purpose.

''Many students who are talented in a particular field get lost in the long run and we at BVS will see to it that they get their due,'' said Panse.

Panse also informed that the convention will become an annual event from this year, and will have a competition in various fields.

During the convention, the BVS will also formally launch its website.
