Asom boy dancing into the record books
Guwahati, Jun 17 (UNI) Rupendu Das wants to dance his way to the record books, literally.
Hailing from Silchar in Barak valley of Asom, Rupendu has set his eyes on breaking the world record of non-stop dancing.
He said, ''Dancing had been my passion all along and now I want to enter the record books through it.'' Rupendu had already completed the feat of dancing non-stop for 32 hours at his hometown. He will attempt at 40 hours non-stop dancing in Guwahati later in the month.
But he had his eyes fixed on the world record of 48 hours.
Rupendu said, ''If I can achieve the feat, I will be featured in Zee TV's Sabash India and can easily get my name entered in the record books.'' He eats high calories food two days prior to his non-stop dancing routines and takes only liquids during the performance.
In fact, Rupendu doesn't stops dancing even if the music stops.
''Even if the music stops due to some technical glitch, I continue with the dancing,'' he added.
But
all
had
not
been
smooth
sailing
for
this
dancer.
He
said,
''Very
few
people
come
forward
to
help
genuinely.
I
have
stopped
depending
on
others
help
and
go
about
doing
my
works,
like
meeting
sponsors,
hanging
my
posters,
all
by
myself.''
His
family
had
been
the
greatest
strength
for
him,
he
said
adding
that,
''My
son
is
also
good
at
dancing
and
we
are
encouraging
him.''
