Mysore, June 17: The picturesque Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta (Hills) near Gundlupet in Chamarajanagara district has emerged as a tourist attraction, but the area lack civic facilities.

The place is also known for a temple, situated atop a hill.

The scenic lush green and a panormaic view of the mountains add more grandeur to the spot.

However, lack of basic facilities like no proper approach road had hampered the inflow of the tourists to this region.

Now the district authorities had prepared a master plan for the development of tourism in the region.

The recent visit of Chief Minister H D Kumraswamy to Chamarajanagara, after a gap of 17 long years, had brightened the hope.

The authorities had planned to take up tourism development in the region at a cost of Rs five crore.
