Talking to reporters at the Jodhpur House here, she said she would tonight decide when to file her nomination for the election.
Before that, she would resign as Rajasthan Governor. She would also visit Rajghat, the 'samadhi' of Mahatma Gandhi, before filing her nomination.
Mrs Patil, who reached here this morning, went to 10, Janpath, the residence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, shortly after her arrival. However, the two could not meet there.
Later, Mrs Patil went to the Prime Minister's residence where she met both Dr Manmohan Singh and Ms Gandhi.
