Indian energy advisor of USAID wins 'World Clean Energy Award'
New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) Srinivasan Padmanabhan, a senior energy advisor with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), received the 'World Clean Energy Award' in Basel, Switzerland for his contributions to the Green Business Centre and the Water-Energy Nexus Activity in India.
Mr Padmanabhan, who received the award yesterday, is the architect of the two projects, both funded by USAID. The award is administered by the Swiss-based Transatlantic21 Association to honour the mainstream applications of clean technology and encourages the use of renewable energies and energy efficeincy concepts.
The first project, Water-Energy Nexus Activity helps communities develop appropriate solutions for groundwater and energy problems while the other one Green Business Centre, based in Hyderabad, fosters excellence in energy efficiency, recycling, renewable energy and water management in Indian industry.
