Four injured in police lathicharge at PDP rally
Jammu, June 16 (UNI) At least four protesters were injured in police baton charge when a group of Shiv Sena(Bal Thackrey) activists protested against the public rally of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Jhri, about 15 km from here.
West Pakistan refugees, led by Shiv Sena state president Aanan Sharma, blocked the road and attempted to stop PDP state president Mehbooba Mufti to address the rally, an eyewitness told UNI.
''When they (protesters) didn't quell, police resorted to baton charge,'' an eye-witness said, adding that four people were taken to a nearby health centre after they received serious baton injuries while the Shiv Sena leader was taken into custody.
