Four injured in a blast in Amritsar Army Cantonment area

Amritsar, Jun 16 (UNI) Four employees of the Cantonement Board were injured in a bomb explosion in the garbage dumping place inside the Army Cantonement on the Amritsar-Wagah road this afternoon.

The injured, all of them 'safai karmacharis', were first rushed to the Army Hospital and then taken to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital here, Army spokesman Major Naresh Vig said.

They were identified as Baldev Singh (59), Paramjit Singh (49), Ajit Singh and Uttam (50).

The spokesman said all of them received multiple injuries in the blast. The condition of Baldev Singh was stated to be critical.

Army authorities have ordered an inquiry into the incident.
