'Fantastic,' says Kalam on Pratibhatai Patil's candidature for Prez

Nagpur, Jun 16 (UNI) ''It is fantastic,'' was President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam's reaction to the decision of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) to field Rajasthan Governor Pratibha Patil as its Presidential cantidate.

Dr Kalam's reaction came in response to a question from newsmen after a function at the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) here yesterday.

He, however, declined to comment further. This was probably Dr Kalam's first reaction to Ms Patil's candidature, which, incidentally, came on the eve of the President's visit to Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

Dr Kalam plans to launch a personal website after he leaves Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi to stay in touch with the people.

During an interaction with students in Yavatmal yesterday, Dr Kalam said after he steps down from the post of President, he could be contacted at www.abdulkalam.com. The site is under construction at present, he added.
