Mumbai, Jun 16 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP President Nitin Gadkari today alleged that Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was allotting plots to his trusts and institutions at reduced rates causing a loss of nearly Rs 14 crore to the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

In a release here today, Mr Gadkari described this as completely wrong and demanded that the Governor to look into the matter and cancel the allotments.

Mr Gadkari said five plots were allotted to agriculture science centre, ayurvedic medical college and hospital at Latur district to Manjra charitable trust while Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation, Mumbai has been given three plots, one for sports and one for educational purpose. All the seven plots have been allotted at the rate of Rs 50, Rs 25, and Rs five per sq mt.

Apart from CM Deshmukh, his brother Dilip, son Amit, wife Vaishali and others are the members of these trusts.

Mr Gadkari criticised the CM for allotting the plots at reduced rates to his trusts.

He said by allotting these plots at reduced rates, MIDC has suffered a loss of nearly Rs 14 crore and questioned whether this was Congress' way of eradicating poverty.
