Cartoon Network presents network premiere of film 'Shrek'

Mumbai, June 16 (UNI) The kids channel of India Cartoon Network will present the network premiere of the Academy award winning animated movie ''Shrek'' tomorrow at 1200 hrs in four languages.

The film would be premiered in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The movie is based on the exciting escapades of 'Shrek', the lovable green ogre who is on a mission to rescue Princess Fiona, his home and other fairytale creatures from Lord Farquaad, the ruler of Duloc.

According to a release, VJ Cyrus Broacha had been roped in as the voice of the one of the key protagonists- Donkey -in the Hindi version of the film to popularise this Hollywood blockbuster among kids all across India.

Turner International India Vice President for Advertising and Sales Networks (India and South Asia) Monica Tata said, ''We are especially delighted to have Cyrus who, with his spontaneous witty delivery and quirky humour, has particularly been a great fit.'' The adaptation of Shrek in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu was yet another milestone effort to reach out to as wide an audience as possible, she added.

This month would also witness other exciting movie premieres on the channel such as, 'The Powerpuff Girls: The Movie', 'The Land before Time X: The Great Longneck Migration' and 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secret Origins' every Sunday at 1200 hrs, the release added.
