15 killed, seven injured in Ramban minibus accident
Jammu, June 16 (UNI) As many as 15 passengers were killed and seven others injured when a minibus skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and rolled down into a deep gorge at Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir, a police report said.
The overcrowded vehicle was on its way from Banihal to Makarkote when the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp curve on NH-1A and the bus plunged into the deep gorge, a kilometer short of its destination.
Thirteen passengers died on the spot while two succumbed to injuries on their way to nearby hospital at Banihal.
The injured were later airlifted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar.
The victims were identified as Mohd Hanif of Khor (magarkote), Master Nazir Ahmed of Dhanmasta, Ghulam Mohammad of Khari, Mohammad Muzamil of Dardai (magarkote), Allf Din Gujjar of Chambalbass, Bal Singh and his wife of Pingolga Faneral, Mohammad Sharief of Barthyal Pogl, Abdul Majid of Sartagni, Aman Ullah of Magarkote, Noor Mohammad of Pogal, Abdul Majid of Halbagan, Abdul Rashid Wani of Alnbass and Abdul. Latif of Nogam Poogal.
