Uttam Galva Steels records a new landmark in steel export
Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) One of India's leading manufacturer and exporter of galvanized steel, Uttam Galva Steels Limited today crossed a new milestone by exporting a whopping 2 million tonnes of value added steel.
It is worth mentioning here that Uttam Galva has been the recipient of the Government of India's ''Highest Exporter Award'' for seven consecutive years and it has taken them only 30 months to achieve its second million tonne of exports.
This assumes greater significance in light of the fact that these exports are not for generic products but for high end products tailor-made to a customer's specific requirement, an official statement explained.
''What is more interesting is that the company enjoys the distinction of supplying quality steel to developed markets like US, Europe and Japan. We now export to 128 countries worldwide including most of the developed nations like USA, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, etc to name a few. Our company's value added products include galvanized coils, galvanized sheets, CRCA and color-coated steel,'' the company's Director Mr Ankit Miglani said.
Uttam also enjoys the distinciton of being the first Global Depository Receipt (GDR) to be listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
The company is a one of the largest manufacturers of cold rolled steel (CR) and galvanised steel (GP) in Western India. In the domestic market too, it is a major supplier to the automobile, white goods, general engineering and construction industries and boasts of reputed customers include Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Tempo, M&M, Kirloskar, Crompton and L&T.
