Shiv Sena meet to decide party's role in Presidential poll
Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) A crucial meeting of senior Shiv Sena leaders is underway at the party chief Bal Thackeray's residence here to decide about the party's role in the Presidential election.
Among the leaders present at the meeting included executive president Uddhav Thackeray, former Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi, Shiv Sena group leader Chandrakant Khaire and Sanjay Raut, MP.
Shiv Sena, which has 15 MPs, 56 MLAs and also a few MLCs and Rajya Sabha MPs, has a sizeable chunk of votes and against the backdrop of announcement of Dr Pratibha Patil as UPA'S Presidential nominee, the Sena's role gains importance.
Despite frequent attempts by the UNI reporter to contact the leaders, there was no response.
