Peak load drops to 3682 MW following pre-Monsoon showers
New Delhi, June 15 (UNI) With heavy pre-Monsoon showers in Delhi, the first of the season, cooling down the Capital city, the power situation in the city eased up today with the peak load falling sharply to 3682 MW.
''Peak load on the system recorded was 3682 MW at 1220 hrs from 3923 MW yesterday,''a Delhi Transco spokesperson said.
The 13 MW shedding had to be carried out by BRPL at the time of peak demand (3 MW due to tripping of 11 KV feeder Seelampur Ph II at overcurrent and 10 MW due to tripping of 20 MVA Pr Transformer at Patparganj Industrial Area).
The power situation in Delhi has improved since Tuesday with the Easterlies leading to an abatement in the heat wave sweeping Delhi since the beginning of June.
The heat wave saw the peak demand touch a high of 4030 MW on Monday.
