Nikkei up 0.6 pc as Canon, other exporters rise

Tokyo, June 15: The Nikkei average gained 0.58 percent on Friday with high-tech exporters such as Canon Inc. extending their gains following a rise in US stocks and on a weaker yen.

The Nikkei share average was up 103.55 points at 17,945.84 as of 0001 GMT, and the broader TOPIX index added 0.50 percent to 1,765.46.
