Nationwide strike by Gramin banks on June 29, 30

New Delhi, June 15 (UNI) The Joint Forum of Gramin Bank Unions will observe a nationwide strike on June 29 and 30 to press for demands for a uniform recruitment and promotion policy in Regional Rural Banks.

The decision to call a two-day strike was necessitated due to various long-pending demands of 'gramin' bank employees and also to ensure branch expansion in uncovered areas, according to the Joint Forum of Gramin Bank Unions.

Among the various demands on the table are parity with sponsor banks in allowance and benefits, implementation of Banking Pension Settlement 1993, 1994 in RRBs and continuance of compassionate appointment schemes 1982.
