Minor arrested with stolen car after hitting 8 people on road

New Delhi, Jun 15 (UNI) A 16-year-old boy from Mohali in Punjab was today arrested from Bhajanpura area of North-East Delhi after hitting eight people. including two women, while trying to flee in a stolen car this morning.

The boy, who was staying at his aunt's place in Rajouri Garden, had come to meet one of his relatives in Subzi Mandi area when he stole a white Maruti 800 from the Pratap Nagar Metro parking at about 0800 hrs, said the police.

''Shortly after he lost control, the vehicle grazed the pavement and hit eight people near Bhajanpura crossing.'' First the car hit a mobile PCO owner on the pavement, then a water vendor and six others, before coming to a halt.

The accused was later arrested and the injured taken to the GTB Hospital where they were released after given first aid.
