Milk Abhisheka, decoration with Mango leaves welcomes Shivaji the Bo
Bangalore, June 15 (UNI) Pouring Milk on superstar Rajnikant's cutouts, decorating the theaters with Mango leaves, slogan shouting in favour of Rajni saw the colourfull release of multi-crore film 'Shivaji, The Boss' across Karnataka today amidst tight security arrangements following protest call by the Kannada Rakshana Vedike.
In Bellary, pro-Kannada organisation activities tried to prevent screening of the film. However, police intervened and arrested about 50 activities.
In Bangalore heavy bandobust was maintained by posting a sizeable number of police in front of the 10 theaters and three multiplexes where the film was released. No untoward incident reported till the afternoon, police sources told UNI.
Black marketers had a field day with the tickets being sold at Rs 400 to Rs 1,000. The theaters screening the film wore a festive look and despite full house boards hanging on the gates, a large number of Rajni fans were seen standing in front of the theaters and celebrating the occasion.
Reacting to protest by pro-Kannada activities, former Karnataka Film Chamber President Gangaraju appealed for withdrawal of agitation stating that the film was released as per norms and there should not be any sort of protests. In all 10 prints were released in Karnataka.
