Lightning claims lives of 5 fishermen

Surat, June 15 (UNI) Five fishermen were killed after being struck by lightning in Surat district, with South Gujarat experiencing heavy rains since last evening.

Control room sources said five fishermen in Uchchal who were killed yesterday, after being struck by lightning, have been identified as Rathilal Gamit (55), Gamuniya Gamit (30), Anil Gamit (30), Mahesh Gamit (16) and Bharath Gamit (60).

Two other fishermen were admitted to the Songadh Referral Hospital after suffering burn injuries due to the lightning.
