ITRC has new director
Lucknow, June 15 (UNI) Indoor toxicity created by new generation malls, cars and homes are posing a great threat to the health of the common people, the newly appointed Industrial Toxicology Research Centre (ITRC) director Ashwani Kumar said.
Dr Kumar, who took over the post here today said that the small nano-particles, which are odourless and cannot be seen with the naked eyes, enter human bodies and can create diseases like asthma in the preliminory stages.
''Such indoor toxicity can also lead to cancer or critical cardic disorder,'' he said adding that dust particles in household goods including carpets and furnitures also create indoor pollution.
The new director said that the ITRC is working to counter remedial measures for the indoor toxicity as per the global standard with competitive approach.
