Hooda for early completion of JNNURM works

Chandigarh, June 15 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today directed the Urban Local Bodies Department to complete the works costing Rs 199 crore sanctioned under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) by 2009.

The Chief Minister gave these directions to the officers of the Local Bodies while reviewing progress of major projects undertaken by the department here.

Mr Hooda said the Centre had sanctioned a Rs 103.83 crore scheme for revamping of sewerage system and sewerage treatment works in Faridabad and Rs 30.64 crore had been approved for construction of drainage works at Old Faridabad.

He said two schemes for construction of dwelling units had also been approved. As many as 1968 dwelling units would be constructed at Dabua colony, Faridabad at a cost of Rs 38.96 crore.

Similarly, construction of 1280 dwelling units at Bapu Nagar, Faridabad had also been approved which would be constructed at a cost of Rs 25.27 crore.

The Chief Minister also directed the authorities that all out efforts should be made to provide all basic amenities to the dairy owners while shifting these dairies from the outskirts of the city. A plan costing Rs 31 crore had been envisaged under which dairies from 12 cities would be shifted out of the cities.
