Heavy rains likely in northeast, Goa, Kerala, coastal Karnataka

Pune, June 15 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Assam and Meghalaya and active in Gangetic West Bengal.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarnchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Tamil Nadu.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in northwest Rajasthan and at isolated places in Haryana.

In the regions where the Southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, south Chattisgarh, and in remaining parts of Rajasthan.

They were above normal in some parts of west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and south Madhya Maharashtra.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and in remaining parts of Haryana. They were below normal in some parts of Punjab, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, and interior Karnataka.
